It is that time of year again! Time to set our goals for 2023! As you start making your laundry list of all the weight you want to lose, money you want to save, and hobbies you want to start; don’t forget to add some time with Jesus into your everyday life. Not only is this time so important to be able to grow in your faith, but it can also push you to achieve your other goals! Let’s look at what scripture says about how we can do this..
Isaiah 40: 31 says, “But those who hope in the Lord, will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”
Sounds like a really intense can of RedBull, right? The key words in this verse are, “those who hope in the Lord”. None of the other great things in this verse will ever happen without hope in the Lord that he will strengthen you to do so. Not only is your time spent with the Lord important, but it is CRUCIAL to be able to walk confidently through all that life throws at you. He will renew you, strengthen you, give you hope and peace in all that you do! Better than any RedBull I have ever had!
As we enter the New Year, start thinking about those goals you want to set, how you can achieve them, and how you can lean on the Lord to help you push through! Not only is this a great attribute of God, that he can help us in all sorts of ways, but it can give us the confidence that we are capable of achieving these goals with the help of the Lord!
Jeremiah 17:7 says, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him.”
As the year goes on, and waking up at 6 am for that run gets harder and harder, remember who your God is. And how capable you are of anything because the God of the universe is inside of you!
Pray: Lord, I thank you for the hope, strength, and love you give me each day. I pray in this new year that I will draw near to you and lean on you in all that I do. I pray that in this new year I am able to show others your love through all that you are doing in my life. Thank you for another year of blessings, friends, family, and you! Amen!
With Lots of Love,
Georgia Zeleskey
