Rainbows & Unicorns

Life isn’t always fun, but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Not because we did something wrong or the “universe” decided to, but because God works in mysterious ways to grow our faith. One of the best examples of this in my life is during my senior year of high school. As 2020 Seniors we missed out on alot, but during that time I was able to serve my dance team as top officer. This position was one I had worked hard for the last 3 years and knew it would be an opportunity for growth. The book of James states…

James 1:2-4, “ Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Flash forward to the end of my senior year, although it was an amazing honor and a great experience, it was not all rainbows and unicorns. The lessons and trials I faced during that year strengthened me as a leader, person, and believer. James 1:2-4 puts my senior year and our lives into a perspective of growth, joy and fulfillment. Looking back at the problems I had faced, none of them compare to the faithfulness of the Lord in helping me overcome them and grow stronger.

Knowing that the trials we face bring perseverance and steadfastness helps us to learn to count those trials as joy! Although it can be tough at times, we see through our own past experiences how faithful God is in all that we do. God is consistent in giving us strength and does not leave us in the valleys. We see this in Joshua..

Joshua 1:9, This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

So the next time you face trials, tough issues, or doubt. Know that the Lord is with you and what you are going through will bear fruit of faith, perseverance and hope! I pray that you will look to the Lord during all times and know that he is on your side no matter what!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your faithfulness in my life. Help me to count all situations good and bad as joy. Let those lessons bear fruits of faith, perseverance, and steadfastness in me. Help me to be courageous and understand that you are always with me. Amen!

With Lots of Love,
